Shipping

Products under 70 pounds packaged ship via USPS Priority Mail and Priority Flat Rate, insured for the full value. You'll receive a tracking number, and delivery typically takes 3–5 business days after shipment. Shipping and handling costs are paid by the buyer.

Furniture and custom pieces over 70 pounds ship through a freight forwarder; we work primarily with Aloha Freight Forwarders for ground and overseas service. Allow roughly three weeks from the day the shipment leaves the port in Honolulu. Crating and freight costs for furniture are the purchaser's responsibility, and we quote them up front.

Refunds & repairs

Every piece is handmade and one of a kind, so our guarantee works repair-first:

Before we build, you approve the wood selection and design in writing, with a deposit. If your order fails to meet those agreed expectations because of an error on our end, the piece is guaranteed: we repair or replace it, with shipping costs split 50/50.

If a piece fails from wear or neglect, we'd still rather fix it than see it retired. We provide repair service with the purchaser covering shipping and labor.

Caring for your board

Foundwood boards are finished with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax. Hand-wash with warm water and mild soap, dry upright, and never soak it or put it in the dishwasher. When the wood starts to look thirsty, usually every month or two, rub in food-grade mineral oil and let it sit overnight. That's it: cared for this way, your board outlives all of us.
